Why Did We Create PolypopLive?
As avid live stream viewers and video game aficionados, we noticed a dissonance: while the games streamers played were popping with innovations and ever-evolving technologies, the live-stream platforms haven’t changed much in years. Coming from the worlds of VR and gaming, we realized that we could do something about it. We thought, why not take the capabilities of a gaming engine, and apply them to the world of live-streaming? The result is PolypopLive - the only live-streaming app powered by a gaming engine, that adds a third dimension to live-streaming and takes interactivity to a new level.
How did we get here?
What Does it Mean?
1. Having a 3D engine that runs the show allows you to customize many features, creating an exciting live broadcast that is as unique as your content.
For example, you can change the gravity of your broadcast, affecting all objects in your scene accordingly; apply your live camera feed as a texture to 3D objects and have coins with your face on them zooming around, and so much more.
2. Polypop also allows real interactivity inside and outside the screen, in a way that hasn’t been done before.
Polypop’s effects are not just premade overlays, they are 3D objects that are generated live during the broadcast and react in a different way each time - depending on what’s on the screen.
You can set any 3D object to react to any audience-driven event, like sending 3D hearts or emojis whenever someone tips you.
While working on Simmetri and refining our 3D gaming engine, we realized it was capable of disrupting the broadcasting world.
Being accustomed to VR and 3D environments, we were amazed to see how “flat” and old-fashioned the live-streaming world is.
We realized we have the tools and the knowledge to create something new, that will take the live-streaming industry to the next level.
